About Nicola:

With a career in travel spanning nearly three decades, I began my journey in 1997 with Sunworld and quickly discovered a passion for creating unforgettable experiences. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow and refine my expertise with well-known names, including JMC, Thomas Cook, and Club 18-30. Each role strengthened my industry knowledge, customer focus, and love for helping people explore the world.

Today, I bring that wealth of experience to Hanson Travel, where I continue to turn travel dreams into reality with the same enthusiasm that started it all.

Where have I visited?

Having lived on Tenerife for 10 years, this incredible island has become my true speciality. Living there gave me an insider’s perspective, from hidden gems and local culture to the best spots for relaxation and adventure. It’s a destination I know inside out and love sharing with travellers looking for something truly special.

Beyond Tenerife, I’ve been fortunate to travel extensively, experiencing a wide range of cultures, landscapes, and holiday styles. My travels include Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Egypt, Florida, New York City, and New Orleans.

Each destination has added to my understanding of what makes a trip unforgettable, whether it’s relaxation, culture, nightlife, family fun, or once-in-a-lifetime experiences. This first-hand knowledge helps me guide others toward holidays perfectly matched to what they’re dreaming of.

Favourite destination:

Lanzarote — laid-back island life.

Lanzarote sits at the peaceful end of the travel spectrum for me. It’s my go-to escape, somewhere I return to at least twice a year to slow down, recharge, and soak up that relaxed island atmosphere. From the striking volcanic scenery to the calm coastal towns, it’s a place that instantly switches me into holiday mode. In fact, it’s so special to me that it’s the island I hope to retire to one day.

New York City — energy, buzz, and endless discovery

New York delivers the complete contrast, fast, vibrant, and endlessly exciting. I’ve visited three times (with another trip planned for November), and every visit reveals something new. Whether it’s iconic sights, hidden neighbourhood gems, or the unmistakable buzz of the streets, the city never stands still. That constant energy is what keeps pulling me back.
